A Jackson County court ordered repairs at Kansas City's Stonegate Meadows and $2 million for eligible tenants; class-action settlements now total nearly $4 million. Tenants had said ownership left rodent, roach and plumbing problems unresolved.
The settlement covers anyone who lived at Stonegate from Dec. 1, 2019, through May 5, 2026. The complex has 366 units and the order could benefit hundreds of families, but the release did not state how many tenants are eligible. Resident Michele Williams said she would not call it a win while residents still faced the same issues they had experienced at the property. She said collecting what tenants lost was the main priority.
