Jamie Lee Curtis said her last visit with Rob and Michele Reiner was at their Los Angeles home, where she delivered framed family photos from an August Stonehenge trip. They discussed a creative project she offered to help with; the couple were killed at home on Dec. 14, 2025.
Curtis also recalled her final text exchange with Michele, who wanted to send money through Venmo to Curtis and Christopher Guest’s eldest daughter, Annie, then pregnant. Annie’s godparents were the Reiners. Curtis said they had already been generous to her children; Michele replied, “You’re not being helpful.” Annie gave birth to a son one week after the Reiners died.
Less than two weeks before this latest recollection, Curtis honored Reiner during the Emmys’ In Memoriam segment, describing him as generous, kind and funny. Reiner had received a posthumous Emmy days earlier for his work on The Bear.
