The Miami Heat signed guard Dennis Smith Jr. to an Exhibit 10 deal, Chris Haynes reported, giving the former lottery pick another NBA chance after a couple of years away. Smith must prove himself to earn a full opportunity and will compete with Davion Mitchell.
On The OGs podcast more than a year ago, Smith said he had long wanted to play in Miami; he noted that he spends summers there working out and is childhood friends with Bam Adebayo. The Heat’s defense also features Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo in the frontcourt, with Andrew Wiggins on the perimeter.
