Harris County woman faces burglary charge after alleged mailbox break-in

A Harris County woman was taken into custody after deputies responded to a burglary-in-progress call on Kuykendahl Road. Precinct 4 said she forced open residential mailboxes and took correspondence, and listed the charge as Burglary of a Building.

Texas law separately covers intentionally taking mail without the addressee’s consent and with intent to deprive them; federal statutes also cover mail theft and certain mailbox damage. The article does not report those as charges in this case.
