Oklahoma City’s council will discuss Wednesday a $25 million road project at I-40 and Cimarron Road, where documents place a proposed Buc-ee’s. The store remains unconfirmed; CSMS Management, which Buc-ee’s uses for land purchases and development, is leading the project.
The agreement places the proposed store on the northwest corner of I-40 and Cimarron Road, about 15 miles west of downtown. The road project would improve the bridge interchange, approaches and ramps. CSMS would handle engineering design, environmental studies and permitting.
Oklahoma City would be responsible for environmental mitigation, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocations and removing encroachments. The memorandum says a $10 million grant from Markwayne Mullin, awarded while he was a U.S. senator, is being used for the project. Earlier in 2026, the city’s economic development agency CEO said preliminary discussions with Buc-ee’s had taken place; the company declined further comment on its Oklahoma plans.
