At the time of Forbes’ report, four editions of Miley Cyrus’s album “Bass Persuades” were in the U.S. iTunes Top Albums chart’s top 10, led by The Miley Edition at No. 4. Released Sept. 18, the album had yet to make its Billboard 200 debut.
The Miley Edition adds “Smile” as an 11th song to the standard 10-track album. The Acapella Edition ranked No. 6, the original No. 8 and the Instrumental Edition No. 9.
The Billboard 200 tracking period was due to close at the end of Thursday, Sept. 24, with the album’s chart debut expected a few days later. Its title track peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart. Forbes said the single’s start suggested the album could have a lackluster performance, though it considered a Billboard 200 top-10 debut likely.
