Fort Lauderdale home hit by second crane during removal attempt

Two truck-mounted cranes fell onto a Fort Lauderdale home Thursday: the first struck its roof around 9:15 a.m. ET, and a second collapsed onto the house as crews tried to remove it. A fire official reported significant structural damage; no one was injured.

The cause of the first crane's collapse was unclear. A fire inspector and the city's building department were called to assess the damage.
