Hesperia single-engine plane crash leaves two dead

Two people aboard an Aeronca Champion were found dead after the single-engine plane crashed off Summit Valley Road in Hesperia Thursday morning, San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials said. The crash was reported around 9:45 a.m.; the FAA and NTSB are investigating.

Summit Valley Road was open to traffic, though sheriff’s officials asked the public to stay clear of the area for the investigation.
