A strengthening nor’easter is forecast to bring rain, 30–40 mph sustained winds, gusts up to 60 mph, coastal flooding and beach erosion to the Jersey Shore through the weekend. Flood warnings are in effect for Atlantic, Cape May and Ocean counties.
Wildwood postponed its annual beach monster truck races, scheduled for Friday through Sunday, to Oct. 17–18; the city’s antique car show remains scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Stone Harbor canceled its Savor September Festival, and organizers said it is expected to return in 2027.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill said flooding could continue through Friday and strong winds may cause power outages and dangerous surf. Atlantic City designated the Convention Center’s first floor as an evacuation site; Ocean City said additional parking would be available in higher-elevation areas. Atlantic City’s public safety director said the Jersey Shore would experience four high-tide cycles during the storm.
