Paltzik, lawyer for holdout juror Michael Péguy Desronvil, says he plans to file a bar complaint against Kevin Reddington, Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney, alleging unprofessional conduct. Clancy’s case returns to court Sept. 29; Reddington’s motions may be addressed.
Clancy was tried over the January 2023 deaths of her three children. Prosecutors allege she strangled them; her defense argues she was not criminally responsible because of postpartum psychosis. Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial Sept. 4 after the 12 jurors split 11-1 in favor of finding her not guilty. Prosecutors have not said whether they will retry her.
Other jurors alleged Desronvil would not apply the reasonable-doubt standard; he disputed their accounts and said he had no doubt Clancy should be found guilty. Reddington’s pending motions seek records related to Desronvil, access to his phone by a neutral examiner after a juror said he used it during deliberations, and dismissal on double-jeopardy grounds. Reddington has called his motions legitimate; Paltzik says they should be denied. Massachusetts bar complaint filings are initially confidential.
