Brice Turang’s two-run homer in the fifth lifted Milwaukee to a 3-2 win over St. Louis on Saturday night, completing a comeback after the Cardinals took a 2-0 lead. The Brewers held on as the Cardinals went down in order in the final inning.
St. Louis built its lead with Thomas Saggese’s two-out RBI single and Alec Burleson’s 432-foot homer in the third. Milwaukee got a run back later that inning when Jackson Chourio singled home Brandon Lockridge.
Quinn Mathews allowed three earned runs on five hits in five innings for St. Louis, striking out seven and walking one. Milwaukee starter Dustin May gave up two earned runs in three innings. The Cardinals were scheduled to close their season Sunday in Milwaukee, with Andre Pallante set to face Jacob Misiorowski at 2:10 p.m. Central.
