A’ja Wilson says she is pushing through health concerns ahead of Fever series

EssentiallySports

A’ja Wilson said her health is not always at its best as the Las Vegas Aces prepare to face Indiana in the first playoff round, though she believes no player is 100%. She said she will keep showing up for teammates and focus off court on medical tests and getting warmed up.

Wilson missed three regular-season games and the Commissioner’s Cup championship earlier in the season because of a lower-leg and ankle issue; back-related problems also appeared on injury reports ahead of some late-season games. She averaged a league-leading 26.2 points per game, with 9.4 rebounds and a league-best 1.9 blocks.

The Aces won last year’s semifinal series against Indiana 3-2, but lost two of three regular-season games against the Fever this season. Indiana held Las Vegas to 76.3 points per game, the lowest average by any opponent against the Fever. Aliyah Boston was questionable for Sunday’s game after a lower-leg injury, while Aces forward NaLyssa Smith was ruled out for the season with a knee injury.
