After 18 years, Boardwalk Cafe & BBQ will close its Corpus Christi dining room Friday, owners Doug and Julie Fenner announced. Its food trucks will keep operating. Julie Fenner said they could not keep up with rising prices and that fewer people were eating out.
The closure announcement itself did not give a reason. Fenner described the pressures in a comment on Butter’s BBQ’s separate announcement that it would remove brisket from its Sinton menu because of rising beef costs.
