Murphy’s Markets in Cutten, Humboldt County, continues to draw visitors seeking the pay phone Leonardo DiCaprio used in “One Battle After Another,” filmed there in January 2024. The phone was a temporary prop, not a store fixture, and is gone.
Film commissioner Cassandra Hesseltine said the prop is long gone and likely in Warner Bros.’ hands. A water-refill station now occupies the spot, and employees have discussed clearing nearby empty newsstands for a replica, possibly with a plaque; whether to proceed remains undecided.
Visitors also reenact DiCaprio’s hurried route through the store, ask to see the bathroom from the scene and pick up sunglasses like those his character used. Employees said one group of college students filming there once stopped traffic in the parking lot.
