Zoe Saldaña says starring in and executive producing Paramount+’s “Lioness” is all she can handle in Taylor Sheridan’s TV universe for now: she prepares for months and is first in, last out. She is also unsure whether the series will return for season 4.
Season 3 shifted Joe McNamara, whom Saldaña plays, from overseeing operatives to becoming a target herself: Joe was extracted and had to get out. Saldaña said the demanding storyline left her proud of where Sheridan took the character.
Saldaña praised Sheridan for writing characters that can defy gender and race, and said working with him showed her how invested he is in actors and their performances.
