Xiaomi launched the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in China on Sept. 23; reports describe their Snapdragon platforms as 2nm, and the phones reportedly have hardware-level privacy screens. Prices start at CNY 5,999; batteries are 7,000mAh and 8,500mAh, respectively.
The 18 Pro uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 6.4-inch LTPO AMOLED; the Pro Max gets the higher-tier Extreme Gen 6 and a 6.9-inch display. Both share Leica-branded rear cameras: 200MP main and periscope sensors, with 3.2x optical zoom on the latter, plus a 50MP ultrawide. Rear OLED screens can frame selfies with the main cameras and run widgets and mini apps; both phones support 100W wired charging.
The China prices convert to about $895 and $1,045, but those are not confirmed international prices; the article says regional pricing and global availability still need official confirmation. Reports conflict on wireless charging—50W in some coverage and 27W in others. Independent benchmarks and hands-on checks of battery life, privacy-screen brightness impact and rear-screen usefulness were not yet available.
