William Shatner says he would consider reprising Captain Kirk only if someone proposed a meaningful, genuinely interesting story that fits Star Trek’s spirit; he says no such idea has been brought to him. He does not want Kirk revived just for its own sake.
Shatner portrayed Captain James Tiberius Kirk in the Star Trek franchise from 1966 to 1994. Fans were divided: some agreed Kirk would need a strong reason to return, while others said the character should be left in the past.
