The 49ers placed defensive tackle CJ West on injured reserve; his injury is undisclosed. James Thompson Jr. is also sidelined with a high-ankle sprain, leaving San Francisco with three healthy defensive tackles and likely requiring a practice-squad elevation.
San Francisco signed defensive tackle Naquan Jones off the Vikings’ practice squad, defensive lineman Viliami Fekhoko Jr. and wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Jakob Robinson was released from the practice squad after Fekhoko’s signing.
Coach Kyle Shanahan was expected to clarify West’s injury later Wednesday afternoon.
