Jayden Daniels dislocated the same elbow as last season on the final play of Washington’s loss to Dallas. His prognosis was unknown at publication; he could miss anywhere from three weeks to season’s end. Washington’s run game was a bright spot.
In Week 2, Washington ranked second in rushing average at 5.7 yards per attempt and produced four runs longer than 10 yards. Its defense limited Dallas to 3.1 yards per rush, tied for eighth-lowest, and one run over 10 yards. By contrast, Washington ranked 20th at 5.9 net yards per pass attempt; Dak Prescott averaged 8.1 net yards per attempt against its defense.
Before the injury, Daniels completed 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown and ran for 79 yards. Backup Marcus Mariota went 11 of 16 for 111 yards and a touchdown after taking over in the second half, posting an 84.0 total QBR. By Week 3, Washington was near league average offensively and slightly below average defensively in weighted EPA per play.
