Louisville lost a chance to extend its lead after a missed blocking assignment on third-and-11 at Wake Forest’s 14-yard line led to a sack; the ensuing long field-goal attempt went wide left. In the final minute, a holding penalty pushed Louisville out of reasonable field-goal range. Brohm then sent in a kicker who had not played for a 57-yard attempt, which failed to tie the game.
