Iowa beat Michigan 20-19 in Ann Arbor on Hank Brown’s 16-yard touchdown pass to Reece Vander Zee as time expired. The Hawkeyes finished a 91-yard, 11-play drive for the win; Braeden Jackson had earlier returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown.
Michigan led 13-7 late in the third quarter and had outgained Iowa 330-129 at that point. A late unnecessary-roughness penalty against Michigan after its defense pushed Diaz down out of bounds kept Iowa’s final drive alive. With two seconds left, Addison Ostrenga tipped a slightly high pass to himself for a 29-yard catch, setting up the winning throw.
Iowa punter Boston Everitt placed three punts inside Michigan’s 20-yard line, downed at the 3, 11 and 1. The last came with about eight minutes remaining.
