The UK Ministry of Defence has partnered with Ukraine’s Avengers AI Labs to give UK firms access to its battlefield AI platform for drone development. Ukraine says the data is anonymized, delayed and cannot be downloaded.
Avengers AI Labs holds more than 5 million annotated battlefield frames and sensor data covering millions of object detections, including tanks, artillery, air defences, infantry and drones. Ukrainian officials say the material was built mainly from the DELTA battle-management system.
The UK ministry is inviting up to 12 companies to propose uses for the platform, especially technology that could maintain full functionality when communications are degraded or satellite navigation is unavailable.
