Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos attended President Trump’s White House state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday; Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was also there. The dinner capped a day that included Trump-Xi discussions of trade, AI and Taiwan.
The prominence of tech executives came as competition over AI and advanced chips loomed over Xi’s visit. Nvidia and other U.S. chipmakers were caught between Washington’s efforts to curb China’s access to advanced technology and the importance of the Chinese market.
