Nevada officials said records show all 185 people DHS identified as noncitizens were U.S. citizens. DHS called that account false and said the names underwent manual review; Nevada says DHS has not provided the full list of 15,903 it alleged were noncitizens.
Mullin said in July that 15,903 people in Nevada were noncitizens registered to vote. At a virtual meeting with Nevada election officials last month, DHS official Kimberley Vogt acknowledged that the department had not completed a full review of the original list. Nevada Deputy Attorney General Greg Ott said DHS had not provided enough data to investigate the claim.
Trump and Mullin have also claimed the administration identified 250,000 noncitizens on voter rolls in Nevada, California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar said state records did not support DHS's claims and accused DHS officials of trying to intimidate election officials and deter voters.
