Trump shared a series of Truth Social posts late Saturday criticizing Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar after her viral ad accused him of betraying Hispanic voters; one called for a new Republican to replace the Florida congresswoman in Congress.
Salazar told CBS’s Face the Nation last Sunday that she and Trump had a “very good conversation” after the ad, describing him as courteous and receptive. The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday that Trump was privately frustrated with her over it.
Salazar is in a tight reelection race against Democrat Elliot Rodriguez in a district Trump carried by roughly 15 points in 2024. The article says polling is scant, but both major surveys put the race within the margin of error.
