The disclaimer drew criticism because the spot closely resembled partisan political messaging. On X, MeidasTouch called it “weird fascist propaganda”; Democratic commentator Isaiah Martin said taxpayers were funding it. Democratic Texas House candidate Sara McGee called it “fascist propaganda” and accused government officials of betraying the country.
The ad appeared as the White House promoted another Trump-centered media project. Earlier that week, it launched a 24/7 “Trump TV” stream on its YouTube channel, featuring speeches and other administration highlights. The article says the stream had only a few hundred viewers.
