President Donald Trump called a reporter “fake news” and told her “Quiet!” after she asked whether only supportive outlets should join the White House press corps. A judge temporarily ordered CNN, MS NOW and Politico journalists’ passes restored while their lawsuit is heard.
Trump separately barred CNN from traveling on Air Force One on Friday night, preventing it from carrying out its press-pool duties. For his Saturday trip to Knoxville, he invited Real America’s Voice and LindellTV in CNN’s place. Other press-pool networks, which had said Monday they would not cover him until colleagues’ passes were restored, resumed coverage Friday after the court ruling.
