A 16.7-acre waterfront property on Tomales Bay that includes the Marshall Store restaurant is on the market for $13 million, the first time it has been offered for sale. The site has 2,500 feet of shoreline, four parcels, multiple buildings and two docks.
The property has been owned by the Vilicich family for generations and also includes Point Reyes Oyster Co., Marshall Boat Works, the Marshall U.S. Post Office and residences. A brochure shared with SFGATE lists operating revenue just under $400,000 and expenses of about $250,000. Three parcels are zoned for commercial use, which the article says offers potential for further development.
Croatian immigrants Nickola and Nickolina Vilicich bought the property in 1925. Their sons later expanded it and established Marshall Boat Works around 1945; the family also ran a general store on the site that became the Marshall Store. The New York Times named the restaurant among its top 50 in America in October 2021.
