Three men were arrested on suspicion of hare coursing after reports of the activity in Halsall, near Ormskirk, west Lancashire. Rural Taskforce officers seized dogs, a car and equipment when they responded on Saturday.
The force describes hare coursing as the illegal pursuit of hares using dogs, often on farmland without the owner's permission. It says the activity can expose farmers and rural communities to intimidation, property damage and harm to wildlife.
A police spokesman said the men “will be required to answer for their actions before the courts”.
