Taylor Swift’s Sept. 24 “Patient Zero” teaser showed her with minimal makeup, darker-brown bangs and a tear on her cheek. The single is due Sept. 25; its video, featuring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, will premiere at the Sept. 27 MTV VMAs.
Swift announced the expanded album The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore on Sept. 23, with four new songs due Sept. 25. She said the songs were written with fans in mind. At the VMAs, she is also set to receive the first-ever Artist Director Honors.
The 13-second teaser flashes 13 scenes, including Swift washing her hands, two bodies plunging into water, a black rose and two women at a gravesite. The cinematic video features work by Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki.
