As of Sept. 23, AT&T had set no launch date or price for Apple’s iPhone Handoff, which lets one number work on two iPhones. T-Mobile offers it in the US for $5 a month; AT&T says it sees potential but remains focused on existing eSIM options.
With Handoff, both iPhones are configured for the same number, but only one is active on the network at a time; unlocking the other switches the active device. Unlike a standard eSIM transfer, this does not remove service from the first phone. Apple says both devices must run iOS 27 or later, use the same Apple Account, and have iMessage, FaceTime and Messages in iCloud enabled.
In Germany, Deutsche Telekom includes Handoff in its MultiSIM service, which costs €6.95 a month if it is not already part of a customer’s plan. MacRumors reported that Verizon and EE were expected to add support later in 2026, but neither had confirmed a launch date or price as of the article’s reporting.
