Star Meat Delivery is recalling about 167,639 pounds of uninspected raw pork, beef and goat products nationwide, all bearing a false USDA mark. The USDA classified it as a Class I recall; no related illnesses or injuries have been reported so far.
The false establishment mark reads “EST. 1363.” The products were distributed in bulk under the A&D Foods label, though individual retail packages may carry stores’ own labels. Consumers should not eat the meat; they should discard it or return it to the store. Anyone who ate it should monitor their health and contact a health care provider if they feel sick.
FSIS says a Class I recall means there is a reasonable probability that consuming the product could cause serious medical consequences. It says meat produced without inspection could contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria or other contaminants. The lack of inspection was discovered during FSIS surveillance.
