Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger says he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in August 2025. In his first interview since disclosing it in July, he described trouble recalling names, forgetting things and repeating himself. Monthly infusions are intended to slow, not stop, the disease.
His wife, Lorrie, said early warning signs are changes unusual for the individual. Sullenberger called early diagnosis “critically important” and urged people with doubts to get tested, saying earlier action can mean more options. He said the disease continues to progress and that his family is taking each day as it comes.
