A priest was killed and four people were injured in a stabbing during Mass at the Benedictine Sisters Monastery in Jarosław, Poland, on Sept. 24. A 31-year-old Ukrainian man was detained; three of the injured men suffered serious injuries.
Police received the report at about 9:30 a.m. local time. The injured group comprised four men and one woman; the men were clergy, according to Fakt, while the woman's identity has not been disclosed. A prosecutor said the stab wounds were likely inflicted with a kitchen knife. Police are investigating the scene and circumstances.
Sister Barbara Dendor told TVP Info that the dead priest was Father Stanisław and described Father Marek as being in serious condition. Rzeszów Cathedral said Father Marek was undergoing surgery.
