Evan Leeper, 7, died unexpectedly in Spokane Valley on Sept. 18. The cause and manner of his death remain under investigation. Police said no known health issues could explain it; he had reportedly been sick and vomited shortly beforehand.
The Sheriff’s Office said detectives have conducted interviews and are working with the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office to learn what happened before Evan’s death and what may have caused it. His aunt, Myriam Colwell, wrote on a GoFundMe page created for the family that he was deeply loved and called his death the family’s “worst heartbreak.”
