Eighteen arrested over alleged AstroTurf theft at Fair Lawn property

Authorities say 18 people were arrested Tuesday night after allegedly taking artificial turf rolls from a vacant property at River Road and Hopper Avenue in Fair Lawn around 10:15 p.m. All were charged with third-degree theft of movable property.

Sgt. Eric Eleshewich did not say how much turf was taken or why, and did not identify the building. He said the case remains under investigation.
