Polk said the pharmacist told her the vaccine was for people 50 and older, called her first dose a mistake and canceled her appointment. The CDC guidance cited in the article generally recommends two doses from age 50; people 19 and older who are immunodeficient or immunosuppressed may also receive them. Polk’s age is not stated.
