David Oyelowo will play disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist and Viola Prettejohn will play hacker Lisbeth Salander in Sky’s eight-part “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” The pair investigate Harriet Vanger’s disappearance more than three decades ago.
The production says the mystery thriller will bring the story into the present day, exploring how power, secrecy and misogyny take new forms in an increasingly connected digital world. Left Bank Pictures is producing, with Reinaldo Marcus Green as lead director.
Amanda Coe, Steve Lightfoot and Angela LaManna are writers and executive producers; Andrea Harkin and Amy Neil will also direct.
