Houston’s first injury report before Sunday’s Week 3 game against Indianapolis listed six players as practice nonparticipants: Nico Collins, Ed Ingram, Trent Brown, Jadeveon Clowney, Jake Hummel and tight end Dalton Schultz, who rested.
Collins missed a third straight practice with a hamstring strain suffered before Week 2. Ingram (groin), Brown (knee and wrist), Clowney (knee) and Hummel (groin) also sat out; their Sunday availability remained uncertain. The report described Schultz as the only one with no availability concern. Houston had two practices remaining.
For Indianapolis, Alec Pierce was placed on injured reserve for four weeks with a heel injury suffered against Kansas City. Starting cornerback Charvarius Ward missed Wednesday with a groin injury from that game, but the report said he could still play depending on his participation over the next two days.
