Shaun Cassidy turns 68 on Sept. 27 and is returning to the stage with his “Unwrapped: Songs and Stories for the Holidays” tour in November and December. He stopped touring at 21 and later became a television writer and producer.
The holiday shows combine music with stories from Cassidy’s life. His official schedule lists a Nov. 7 start in Denver, stops including Nashville, New York and San Francisco, and a Dec. 20 finish in Los Angeles.
Cassidy said on the Naked Lunch podcast that he stopped touring after a performance at the Houston Astrodome and chose television writing and producing for a more settled life. His credits include American Gothic, Invasion and New Amsterdam. He has been married to producer Tracey Lynne Turner since 2004; they have four children, and he has three children from previous marriages.
