Ed Sheeran’s Sept. 25–26 Gillette Stadium concerts in Foxborough, Massachusetts, were canceled Friday over severe-weather warnings as a powerful nor’easter moved into New England. Ticketmaster buyers will receive automatic refunds; rescheduling plans remain unclear.
The shows became a flashpoint after Gillette owner Robert Kraft said Macklemore would not be welcome following the rapper’s pro-Palestinian remarks. After Macklemore was removed from the tour, Sheeran’s other opening acts and backing band withdrew in solidarity.
Before the cancellation, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell said her office had heard from nearly 200 people struggling to get refunds after the lineup changed. She said Ticketmaster agreed to an exception to its policy for the two dates after her office intervened. The remaining tour schedule listed Atlanta on Oct. 3 as the next stop, but refund policies for those shows were unclear.
