Kyle Schwarber said the Phillies would meet their final regular-season challenge head-on after Friday’s 2-0 loss to Tampa Bay. Philadelphia, already headed to the playoffs, has two games left in the series and stands 87-73, second in the NL East.
Tampa Bay scored in each of the first two innings, while Philadelphia managed four hits in 30 at-bats. Cristopher Sanchez took the loss, allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out 10.
The Phillies’ next game against the Rays is scheduled for Sept. 26 at 7:15 p.m. ET.
