Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini is working toward a return against Como on Oct. 11 at 12:30 p.m. If he plays, he would reach 350 Roma appearances, matching Damiano Tommasi and moving to 12th on the club’s all-time list.
Pellegrini reportedly had the option to join Vincenzo Italiano’s Beşiktaş in the summer for a potentially more lucrative contract, but apparently chose to stay in Rome. He wants to remain part of Roma’s project and convince Gian Piero Gasperini he can compete for a starting spot.
Gasperini has said players such as Soulé and young Mora are ahead of Pellegrini. Roma faces numerous fixtures in October and November, and the report says Gasperini will need to expand his rotation.
