Ryanair flight FR7073 returned to Porto about 35 minutes after takeoff Sept. 22 after its captain reportedly sent code 7500, a signal of possible hijacking. Ryanair called the security report false; the flight continued to Dublin after a 2-hour-33-minute delay.
Air Live reported that the captain transmitted the code as the aircraft climbed to 12,000 feet. Former TAP Air Portugal captain José Correia Guedes said on X that the crew requested radar vectors back to Porto and asked authorities to be notified; he said Portuguese Public Security Police took charge after the plane landed without issues.
