A Russian drone hit an apartment block in Kyiv’s Pecherskyi district overnight Friday, killing a 14-year-old boy. The wider attack left 20 people injured across the capital, eight of whom were taken to hospital; the drone struck between the 10th and 11th floors.
Other damage in Kyiv was reported in Podilskyi and Solomianskyi districts, and a later drone hit a five-storey non-residential building in Shevchenkivskyi. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said eight regions came under attack. Ukraine reported 282 attack drones and several types of missile launched overnight. Odesa was also hit, killing one person and injuring another.
The attack followed a previous night in which ballistic missiles killed two people and injured eight in Kyiv. Russia said it targeted Ukrainian defence and logistics facilities and denied deliberately attacking civilians. Russian authorities also reported casualties from Ukrainian long-range strikes.
