Ukraine's digital ministry said Russian drone attacks on Wednesday disrupted internet service for about 100,000 households in Kyiv and the surrounding region. Experts are assessing damage and carrying out repairs; the attacks lasted from morning into early afternoon.
Russia's Defence Ministry said its forces struck data centres and logistics and warehouse sites it claimed were used for the Ukrainian military. It identified two centres it said were hit in Kyiv and two logistics centres in Odesa.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said the attacks on data centres endangered lives, arguing that access to alerts about missile and drone threats saves lives and that the facilities are civilian infrastructure, not military targets.
