Russian attacks killed two people in Sumy and a driver in Kharkiv on Sunday, while strikes injured nine people, including a child, in Kyiv, local officials said. Six of those hurt in the capital were being treated in hospital.
Sumy regional governor Oleh Hryhorov said three glide bombs struck near a family support centre, killing two. Prosecutors said a drone hit a car in Kharkiv and killed its driver. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said a drone hit a high-rise apartment building in an eastern suburb, starting a fire and wounding one person; emergency crews extinguished the blaze. Klitschko also said drones hit areas near a kindergarten and playground in two districts, and debris started a fire elsewhere in the city.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia had deployed 277 attack drones of various types since Saturday, including 155 jet-powered drones. He said a building used as the Saudi ambassador’s residence was among Kyiv’s targets. Ukraine’s largest mobile provider said Russian forces hit its headquarters; there were no casualties. Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces struck two data centres in Kyiv, a logistics hub in Odesa and two cargo vessels bound for Odesa. Both sides deny targeting civilians.
