Drake Maye lost a fumble and threw an end-zone interception in the first half against Jacksonville on Sunday, his fifth and sixth turnovers of the season. The Jaguars led 14-3 late in the half; Travis Hunter made his first career interception.
Maye fumbled on New England’s second possession at Jacksonville’s 35-yard line. He was not hit or under pressure, and replay confirmed the ball came loose before his arm moved forward. DaVon Hamilton recovered it, and Jacksonville turned the takeaway into a 10-play, 62-yard touchdown drive for a 7-0 lead.
Maye’s six turnovers through the first half were the most in the NFL at that point. He had 14 turnovers in six-plus games since the start of last season’s playoffs, compared with 11 in all 17 games of the 2025 regular season, when he earned All-Pro honors and finished runner-up in MVP voting. He had one touchdown this season as of halftime.
