Ahead of her Season 5 debut on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,” Ruby Rose has said a 2019 “Batwoman” stunt left her with two herniated discs and led to emergency neck surgery; she has also discussed past mental health diagnoses.
The Season 5 premiere is scheduled for Sept. 24 at 9/8c on Fox. Rose said an MRI in Romania, while she was filming “The Doorman,” revealed the extent of her injury after weeks of chronic pain. She said doctors warned she could become paraplegic without surgery. Her doctor said two artificial discs were implanted, and Rose said she returned to work 10 days later. She also had a back procedure in 2018.
In a now-deleted 2019 Instagram post, Rose said she was diagnosed with depression at 13, major depressive disorder at 16 and dissociative amnesia at 18. She also said a brain scan, further tests and therapy led her to learn she had complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), and disclosed a suicide attempt at age 12.
