MGM+ has released a trailer for its six-part “Treasure Island” adaptation, which premieres in the U.S. on Sunday, Oct. 11. David Oyelowo stars as Long John Silver, with Hayley Atwell as Bess Hawkins and Tom Sweet as Jim Hawkins. Paramount+ will stream it in the U.K. and Ireland.
Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1883 novel, the series follows teenager Jim and his mother Bess after a treasure map puts them in danger. Their voyage aboard the Hispaniola leaves them caught between Long John Silver and British agent Aaron Graham; Jack Huston plays Graham, and Tomer Capone plays Billy Bones.
